Women's Day

Women’s Day is an important date in the NCWO calendar, and as stated in its Constitution, is celebrated on 25 August every year. The aim is to increase public awareness of the role played by women and provide a platform for the gathering of women from diverse communities.

The first Women’s Day celebration was held at Stadium Merdeka in 1962. It was graced by the then Raja Permaisuri Agong, HRH Tuanku Tengku Budriah Tengku Ismail. Also present were the then Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tuanku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the then Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdul Razak, and hundreds of women

Pengisytiharan Hari Wanita

Dengan Nama Allah yang Maha Pemurah lagi Maha Mengasihani,

Kami atas nama seluruh Kaum Wanita Malaysia dengan persetujuan dan rundingan telah sebulatkata mengisytiharkan 25 haribulan Ogos sebagai Hari Wanita Malaysia.

Kami Kaum Wanita Malaysia mengakau taat setia kami yang tidak berbelah bagi kepada Negara Malaysia ini.

Kami Kaum Wanita Malaysia mengaku sepenuh-penuhnya taat setia kami ke bawah Duli-Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di Pertuan Agong dan Raja Permaisuri Agong.

Kami Kaum Wanita Malaysia akan berusaha kearah persamaan dan keadilan yang penuh dalam lapangan Siazah, Iktisad dan Masyarakat.

Kami Kaum Wanita Malaysia akan membanting tenaga bersama-sama dengan kaum lelaki untuk membina Keamanan, Kemakmuran dan Persefahaman antara segala bangsa.

Kami Kaum Wanita Malaysia akan mempertahankan Piagam Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu mengenai Hak-Hak Asasi Manusia.

Kami Kaum Wanita Malaysia dengan iktisad yang teguh ke hadhrat Tuhan berazam akan menumpukan segala usaha kami berkhidmat demi kepentingan manusia seluruhnya.

Oleh itu hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan perkara yang tersebut diatas akan diselenggarakan dengan seboleh-boleh demi kepentingan Kaum Wanita seluruh Malaysia. Semoga Allah memberikan pertunjuk kepada jalan yang benar.

In the Name of God the Beneficent and the Most Merciful,

We, on behalf of all women in Malaysia, after discussion and agreement, unanimously declare the 25th day of August as Malaysian Women’s Day.

We, the women of Malaysia, pledge our undivided loyalty to our country, Malaysia.

We, the women of Malaysia, pledge our full loyalty to Their Majesties, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri Agong.

We, the women of Malaysia, will give our utmost service to our nation, Malaysia.

We, the women of Malaysia, will strive to improve the standards of society as a whole, spiritually, educationally, morally and physically.

We, women of Malaysia, will workd towards the achievement of equality and justice in the Political, Economic and Social Fields.

We, the women of Malaysia, will work in cooperation with the men for Peace, Prosperity and Understanding among all races.

We, the women of Malaysia, will uphold the United Nations Charter of Human Rights.

We, the women of Malaysia, with complete faith in God Almighty, pledge to give our service for the benefit of mankind.

In all these things do we pledge to do our utmost on behalf of the women of Malaysia. May God grant us guidance in all our efforts.

Women’s Day is an important date in the NCWO calendar, as its Constitution states; To observe and organise Women’s Day each year on the 25th of August. The celebration take many forms including a grand dinner with the Queen as Guest-of-Honour.
